More ABOUT chart work

The term chart work comes from nautical navigation and refers to the use of charts to plan and follow a course. We chose this name because it reflects our belief that reaching your goals requires a clear direction and the right tools—so you can move forward efficiently and stay on the best route.

That navigation philosophy carries through everything we do. Fundraising works best with clear systems, trusted tools, and human judgment guiding the way. Our approach reflects those priorities:

Systems Over Scramble

Sustainable fundraising comes from structure and shared understanding, not constant reaction. We focus on building strong foundations so fundraising feels manageable and repeatable.

AI as Support, Not Strategy

AI can help teams think, draft, and organize their work more efficiently, but it cannot replace human judgment or trust-based relationships. Our perspective is informed by the work of Ethan Mollick and his book Co-Intelligence, treating AI as a tool—not a decision-maker.

Donor Trust First

Authenticity, transparency, and accountability are non-negotiable. Any use of AI must respect donor relationships and reflect real impact.

Clarity Reduces Burnout

Clear expectations, usable tools, and plain language help small teams focus their time and energy on mission-driven work.

Our approach is steady and thoughtful—using modern tools responsibly while staying grounded in what makes fundraising work.
